THE DETAILS YOU CAN FEEL

Find the feel
of your deck.

Paper, surface treatment and decorative details work together. Start with how you want the cards to look and feel, then compare suitable options against your artwork and budget.

PAPER & HANDLING

Choose by feel.
Confirm with a sample.

These are points to discuss, not a fixed stock catalogue. The exact stock and finishing combination are confirmed for your project.

Weight & thickness

Share your preferred card weight or thickness if known. Compare actual samples for stiffness, deck height and how comfortably they handle.

Surface & texture

Tell us whether you prefer a smooth or textured surface. Include how often the deck will be shuffled and the feel you want in the hand.

Opacity & core

Ask about the available paper constructions. Check show-through and the cut edge on a physical sample before settling on a specification.

Artwork & colour

Share a representative design, especially if it has fine lines, dark areas or colours that are important to your project. Agree a suitable proofing approach.

PRINT & DECORATIVE DETAILS

Make the detail
intentional.

Surface finish
Discuss matte or gloss appearance, texture and tactile preferences. Ask which treatments suit the chosen paper and intended use.
Foil details
Identify the artwork areas and colour effect you want to explore. Placement and artwork preparation need project-specific review.
Card edges
If you want decorated or gilded edges, include that in the brief and ask to see a relevant physical sample.
Box finishing
Consider the box and cards together. Confirm each component’s material and treatment before preparing the final artwork.
